An internship is a programme which, together with an experiential learning programme affords a student an opportunity to gain work experience. There are two types of internship programmes that Magalies Water recognizes namely:
Graduate Training
Offered to a person who has completed a qualification and is unemployed but requires work experience in order to enhance future employment opportunities
In-Service Training
Refers to a programme offered to a person who is currently studying towards a qualification and must undertake a period of work experience in order to fulfill the requirements of the qualification.
Learnership
This is a structured learning programme that combines theoretical learning with practical work experience which leads to a qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework. The theoretical and knowledge component of the learnership shall be one delivered by an accredited training service provider, and the work experience gained during practical training with Magalies Water. The learnerships are awarded according to the skills needs of Magalies Water.
Graduate programme
Our graduate programme is designed to accelerate the development of graduates to ensure their readiness , skill and ability for future Magalies Water roles.
External bursary scheme
Full-time bursaries are awarded annually according to Magalies Water critical skills requirements.
The comprehensive bursary covers the following:
Tuition fees
Accommodation allowance
Book Allowance
Students are allowed to study at any South African University of their own choice which offers the relevant fields of study.
